Holding on to History

Keeping up with trying to post photos more regularly, means finding things (anything!) to photograph.  I'm working on posting at least once a week (because daily was just too much right now).  Well, it's winter (as if you didn't know) and, although it's been a mild winter, I still haven't had much outside time.  Therefore, I was trying to find something around the house for my photos.  The D family have this trunk in the living room.  I just love this trunk.  First of all, it is seriously beautiful.  It's old and rustic, you can see it's age, but it's still in amazing condition.  Then, the history of it, just makes it some much more! This is the trunk that their relatives traveled with when coming to America from Italy in the 1910's. It's like on of the trunks you'd see for sale in a really high end furniture store for thousands of dollars or more, but it's actually a family heirloom sticking around for over 100 years!
